Age 75, of Myrtle Beach, formerly of Pittsburgh, on Monday, August 9, 2021. Beloved husband of Cheryl Cardiff-Garruto; loving father of Lisa Shortridge, Christina Horrocks and Nicholas Garruto; step-father of Mike Cardiff, Kristen Cardiff-Geraci and Joseph Cardiff; grandfather of Brennen Shortridge, Aiden Horrocks, Zachery Cardiff, Jace Savinda, Cameron Savinda, Anthony Geraci, Domanic Geraci, Donte Geraci, Alex Geraci, Mia Geraci and the late Alexa Geraci; brother of John Garruto, Joseph Garruto and Robin Anderson; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Pete was a US Army Veteran During Vietnam and enjoyed scuba diving, Oldsmobile cars, singing and biking. Friends received, Wednesday, 2-4 & 6-8 pm at Soxman Funeral Homes, Ltd./Roth Chapel, 7450 Saltsburg Road (at Universal Road) Penn Hills, where a Blessing Service will be held, Wednesday, 8 pm. following visitation.

Of Turtle Creek, age 76, passed away on Monday, August 2, 2021. Beloved husband of Bonni L. (Popovich) Rotonto for 47 wonderful years. Loving father of John Rotonto, Paul (Wendy) Rotonto, and Aaron Rotonto. Adored grandfather of Steven Rotonto. Dear brother of the late Eugene Rotonto. Brother-in-law of John E. “Jody” (Kimberly) Popovich. Ernie was a 1964 graduate of Wilkinsburg High School. He was then drafted to serve his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. After he returned home, he worked in the repairs department for Wander Sales electronics. Ernie then began an over 20-year career as a machinist at Motor Coils Manufacturing Company in Braddock. He had many hobbies, collections, and enjoyed cars, especially his orange Corvette. Ernie deeply cherished the time spent with his family, especially his adored grandson Steven. Friends are welcome Friday from 2-6 p.m. at PATRICK T. LANIGAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, INC., Turtle Creek / Monroeville Chapel, 1111 Monroeville Ave., Turtle Creek, 412-823-9350, where a Blessing Service will be held Saturday at 11:30 a.m. Ernie will be laid to rest with Military Honors in Good Shepherd Cemetery.

Age 75, of Pittsburgh, passed away on Tuesday, April 13, 2021. Beloved husband of the late Darlene I. (Glick) Tyrrell; loving brother of Diana (Robert) Seidelson; caring brother-in-law of Ted (Karen) Glick and Arnold Glick; cherished uncle of Craig (Lin) Seidelson, Cristi (Kevin) Rachal, Michael Glick and Adrienne (Matt) Duncan; loving great-uncle of Sam and Lenny Seidelson and Jackson and Thomson Rachal. In addition to his wife, Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard J. and Gloria K. (Machen) Tyrrell. Jimmy attended Wilkinsburg High School and RioGrande College where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in education. He was a retired teacher with the Pittsburgh Public School District and lived by the quote, “A teacher takes a hand, opens a mind, touches a heart, shapes the future.” In addition, he was a classic car enthusiast, loved being a member of the Corvette Club and was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan. Friends and family will be received Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12 p.m. at the JOBE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, INC., 118 Shaw Avenue, Turtle Creek (412-823-1950). Per CDC guidelines, masks will be required and social distancing will be observed. Interment will follow at Church Hill Cemetery.
