Diann Connolly Oliver

Age 78, of Penn Hills, passed on February 21, 2024 

Beloved wife of 49 years to Walter Oliver; mom to Christine (Keith) Hunt, Keri Oliver-Hampton; grandma to 9 grandchildren; great-grandma to 3 great-grandchildren; sister to Roberta “Bobbie” (Warren) Ashton, Sylvia (Bob) Babb, Karen (Ray) Scarpino; and aunt to numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in her passing by her son, Rick Cegelski; and a sister, Linda Meyer.

Diann was born in Key West Florida to Katharine and Roy Connolly. She grew up in Wilkinsburg, PA and is a graduate of Wilkinsburg High School.

Diann was a professional cake decorator at Waldorf’s Bakery in Squirrel Hill for many years. She loved to dance, and loved crafts as well, specifically knitting and cross stitch.

Diann enjoyed meeting up with friends and having fellowship over a good meal. Her and Walter enjoyed many a weekend in their RV. Diann’s greatest joy was spending time with Walter and family.  She was devout in her Christian faith and was a member of Unity Community Church, where she participated in  Bible study group, and made prayer shawls with a group of ladies there.

Friends received, Sunday, 2-5pm at Soxman Funeral Homes, Ltd.,7450 Saltsburg Road (at Universal Road) Penn Hills,  where a prayer service will be held at 4 pm. A luncheon will be held at Unity Community Church following the conclusion of the visitation at 5 pm.

 

Paul B. Jones

November 21, 1945 – April 05, 2024

Paul B. Jones, Age 78, of Cranberry Twp, PA on April 5th, 2024. Beloved wife Helen Jones for 55 years of marriage; Loving father of Paul C., Scott P, and Derek M.; Proud grandfather of Brittany Osborne, Danika Jones, Dakota Amidon, Kaden Jones & Olivia Jones. Great-grandfather of Bala Osborne, Harper Osborne & Wrenley Amidon. Brother of Becki Haner, Richard Jones (deceased) & Demaris Rathjen (deceased). Also survived by many loving friends and family. Paul spent the majority of his career as a jeweler at his business, Paul Jones Jewelers. He served in the U.S. Army for 3 years and was a graduate of Wilkinsburg High School.
A “Celebration” of his life will be held for family and friends on June 1st (1:00 – 5:00) at Freedom Crossing, 500 Franklin Blvd, Freedom, PA 15042
