Pamela J. Onder

ABRAMSON, PAMELA J, age 65, of Orlando, passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2011. A Pittsburgh native, Pam was born on November 6, 1946, to the late Geno and Rose (Balkovec) Onder. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish and a Master’s degree in African Languages from Duquesne University. Pam was also fluent in Spanish, German, Arabic, Hausa, Swahili and American Sign Language. A Graduate Gemologist of the Gemological Institute of America, she earned a Degree (Fellow) from the Gemological Association of Great Britain. She was also designated a Master Gemologist Appraiser by the American Society of Appraisers. A fixture in Winter Park for over 24 years, she was in business as PJ Abramson Jewelers from 1987 to 2011. Pam and her husband of 44 years, Norman, who survives her, grew up together in the same Pittsburgh neighborhood and were married in Colorado in September 1967, relocating to Orlando from California in 1981. In addition to her husband, Pam is survived by her daughter, Sascha Abramson (Philip Hamilton) of Bloomsbury NJ; and her sisters Robin (Robert) Newham of Pittsburgh and Marianne Belan (George Sanchez) of Albuquerque NM.
